WE have been busy installing corn and wood pellets stoves.
The fall was great for installs and as usual we completed several installs of corn wood pellet fireplace inserts. The inserts can be a challenge but certainly can warm up a chilly house.
With each and every install we learn a great deal. We have learned more with each install about venting and some of the real challenges with some of the walls we vent thru.
However it rewarding seeing some of the homeowners now warm in the areas the previous were not using much since it was so cold in their home.
One of the real nice applications for a corn wood pellet stove is placing in a basement and pulling the warm air via the return air ducts thru the existing furnance and ductwork to heat the entire home. It works great in our home pulling warm air from the basement thru the entire main floor of the house.
Keep installing those Bio Mass stoves and rely on Green Energy!
Happy Holidays to all from Corn Heat from the BlueGrass in Kentucky

Heating season is here.
We are in the process of checking stoves for our customers. Part of the service is a good cleanup of the stove. We also check all the venting and run a CO test on the appliance venting.
The top storm cap is removed and the bottom cap on the T vent is removed.
A wire brush is run thru the venting to remove any buildups and soot is removed by the brush.
A good clean stove with no obstructions from any birds or insects or dust are removed.
Stoves are test fired to see they are working properly.
A preseason checkup is good for making the stove life longer and also for ensuring
all of the emissions are not leaking thru any pipes or joints.
We take the time to look over all the stove and ensure the stove is functioning properly.
A good checkover takes 1-2 hours depending on the stove and how clean the stove is .

Pulling the furnaces out for cleaning and next season
Each late spring we pull the Greenhouse furnaces out and clean and repaint so they are ready for the fall and winter season. The MagnuM furnaces do a great job of heating the greenhouses for winter and spring plantings. With the higher humidities they need to be readied for the next season. We clean the hoppers and all areas and touch up with paint.
Let keep the plants warm so they grow well during the winter and early spring.

Time to start the new Burn Season on June 1st
Time to get ready for the next burn season. Even tho it is hot and warm and humid in Kentucky
it is time to start on the next burn season. By burn season we refer to the next heating season for fall 2009-10. So we are working on finding new dealers and helping new customers.
Starting to select stoves and get all the promotional materials out to our staff.
We will be ready. Also we are still waiting for the IRS regulations for the tax credit.

It is time for spring cleaning of your stove
Yes it is time for spring cleaning of your corn and wood pellet stove.
Some key points
Check the owners manual for your biomass stove on what the cleanout process is for your appliance.
Once you are complete for the season run the stove on high for about an hour.
Then allow the stove to cool.
Remove all fuel from the stove and vacuum all areas of the stove.
This a good opporunity to check all areas of the stove.
Be sure to unplug the stove for the season.
If you have the tools clean the venting also.
Check to see no rodents or birds can enter the venting during the off season.
Also if you need to have a professional technician clean your stoves venting and the stove.
It is good to clean the heat exchanger and all of the exhaust system.
Spring cleaning is essential for many years of good service for your bio mass appliances.
